Salutation to you O Lord, the master of the universe, the great Lord, the three-eyed one, the destroyer of Tripura, the extinguisher of the Trikala fire and the fire of death, the blue necked one, the victor over death, the Lord of all, the ever-auspicious one; the glorious Lord of all deities.

October was quite an eventful month at the temple with both Dasara and Deepavali celebrations observed with many festivities. The bommala koluvus (golus) as well as the miniature koluvus added new vitality to the interior of the temples already ornate with scintillating decorations. The music and dance presentations by the youngsters made the ambience livelier.

The brand new Ratha rolled on its wheels with the arrival of Vijaya Dasami. The first ever Pulangi Seva to inaugurate new Ratha was a feast to the eyes of thousands of devotees who attended the function.

The fireworks on Deepavali day were a huge success with large crowds gathering at the temple premises to witness this popular event.

Next two months will be busy with many activities at the temple. The two main events in November are the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon and the Homage to Nataraja program presented yearly under the able direction and guidance by Sujaya Dixit. Please check the announcements and attend these popular events.

Karthika Deepa Puja and Jwara Thoranam will be observed on Sunday, November 5 and the program details can be seen on the special event schedule.

We are very honored and pleased to present Padmasri Sudha Raghunathan in a live concert at our temple on Saturdy, November 4, at 7:30 PM. Please make use of this wonderful opportunity to hear one of the top most artists in the history or Carnatic music.

Taurni Sundaresan, a Bala Vihar student is organizing the Holiday food and Toy drive to help the needy during Christmas Holidays. Click here for details. Please bring new toys and nonperishable food items and help Taruni in this project.

As one can see, the silpis are working relentlessly to complete the architecture of the Siva Temple. It would be wonderful to see these artisans at work. Next time you visit the temple, please take the time and observe the architecture in progress.

For participation click here for a flyer

Every year, we do the bommala koluvu, both in Balaji and Siva temples, with the help of devotees from our community. Two years ago, we started involving children to participate in this event by encouraging them to bring their own displays to set up at the temple. Many children participated and made it a successful event in the years past.
